The first works like karma: give recommendations to others\u2014especially to people you would like one back from\u2014and they’ll likely return the favor<\/strong>. This is also a great way to serve your network<\/a>.<\/p>\n You can also reach out to anyone in your network with a personal message saying something along the lines of:<\/p>\n “Hey [x], hope you’re doing well. I’m looking to start my career in [y], and would really appreciate it if you would write a brief LinkedIn recommendation for me. I want to show my future employer that I’m [quality #1], [quality #2], and [quality #3], and I believe you’re the best person to testify to that. By the way, if you’d like a recommendation touching on anything in particular, I’d be happy to write one for you as well.”<\/em><\/p>\n <\/p>\n Here are some ways you can use your LinkedIn recommendations: <\/p>\n 1. Resume –<\/strong> The top of your resume that contains your contact information should also contain a link to your LinkedIn profile.
